Pit Personnel / Equipment Operators

Summary of the Job:

Safely operates a loader in the Pit as well as a forklift.  Learns products to efficiently load customers and/or trucks.  Works overtime and Saturdays when needed. 

Job Characteristics:

This position performs technical and moderate to heavy physical labor duties.

Requires attention to detail and safe procedures.  Requires accurate record keeping, diplomacy and knowledge of products.  Maintains confidentiality.

Daily contact with the public, other employees and contractors. 

Essential Functions:

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.  Communication over the radio system is essential.  Maintain clear and concise records while performing equipment inspections.  Keep paperwork in order and write legibly. 

Professional appearance and attitude.  Ability to work as a team as well as independently.  Safely handle power tools.  Work at an efficient and safe pace.

Lift 100# properly.

Operate any equipment safely and properly load customer vehicles as well as DBRM trucks.

Perform equipment checks.  Keep the inside and outside of equipment clean at all times.

Follow all safety precautions at all times.  Adhere to all local, state and federal regulations and always ensure MSHA compliance.

Performs any other duties as required, including but not limited to cleaning, welding when applicable, shop/mechanic work when applicable, etc.  May also drive dump trucks, belly dump trucks or other equipment.  All employees of DBRM are expected to do what it takes to safely get the job done.

Work Environment:

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.  May be around materials that are considered hazardous. 

Experience:

Basic customer service skills.  Basic math skills.  Skills in operating heavy equipment such as loaders and forklifts.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

High School Diploma or GED

Prefer a valid State of Montana CDL Class A with Tanker Endorsement

Current Medical Certificate (if applicable)

Clean Driving Record

Pass a background check

Pass a pre-employment physical

Pass a pre-employment drug test as well as random tests
